The production of wealth will inevitably decline.
Machinery will cease to operate, and we will have to go back to working with manual tools. Then, humans will no longer be able to produce steel or to recycle it, and we will be thrust back into a stone age, with one major difference: the sum of all acquired knowledge will be vast, but we will have lost our basic survival skills.
A great number of concepts that we hold up as proof that we are “enlightened beings” will bite the dust, and the paradigm will change radically.
It is difficult to provide a timeline for this evolution. We know that we are on a downward slope, but we don’t know just how steep it is. What counts is knowing in what direction we are going and getting prepared for it. This leads to the question: “What can we do?”.
